The Perrier-Jouet Champagne

The Perrier-Jouet Champagne, usually sells for $1,275 per bottle. But now, it has gotten even pricier. The company has created a new limited edition for the rich.

They took a bunch of wines and sugar from a special region and added it to the old mixture. They will then be selling it for an outrageous $6,485 a bottle. The first bottles were put on sale after a glamorous launch event at the Opera Garnier in Paris last March 20.

According to the International Herald Tribune, “The bubbly is tailor-made through the addition of a liqueur, a combination of sugar and wines from different years.”

The buyers were also offered a haute cuisine dinner and an overnight stay at Perrier-Jouet’s Belle-Epoque mansion in Epernay, east of Paris. The Perrier-Jouet’s Belle-Epoque mansion is home to 200 pieces of original modern art.
