The Record Breaking Ultra Luxury Gem
This gorgeous blue diamond came in at a price of $1.32 million per carat, when the gavel fell at Sothebys. The blue diamond has 6.04 carats in total and is named as Fancy Vivid Blue. It has flawless clarity and was set in a platinum ring with two white emerald cut diamonds on either side.
The Fancy Vivid Blue is priced at $7.8 million in Hong Kong. The Moussaieff Jewelers were the lucky ones who purchased this stunning piece for their collection of rare gemstones.
The Hancock Red, which was the previous record holder for the most expensive diamond was a little over $900,000 per carat back in the year 1987.
