The World’s Most Expensive Beer
Bottom’s up! Samuel Adams Utopias retails the most expensive beer for $120 per 24 oz. bottle. This means that it costs $5 per ounce! It’s not only expensive, it also has a very strong date.
“The copper-colored liquid inside doesn’t have a bubble of carbonation,” said the Sun Sentinel. “The first sensations are a viscous mouth feel and a sweet sherrylike flavor with nuances of toffee and maple. There are notes of vanilla and plum and a hint of charred wood. A long, lingering alcohol burn, more reminiscent of a cognac or brandy than a beer, is followed by a sweet burned-caramel aftertaste,” they added during the review.
The bottle alone, which looks like a Cogniac container, is a collectible.
